Planters Nuts
Since 1916, America's favorite anthropomorphic talking peanut has been the face of Planters Nuts. I was tasked with giving said peanut a voice across multiple mediums.
MR. PEANUT'S 100TH BIRTHDAY MICROSITE
To celebrate Mr. Peanut's 100th birthday, we created a microsite dedicated to helping people all over the nation join in the festivities. Once users visit MrPeanut100.com, they are greeted by Mr. Peanut (voiced by Bill Hader, who's ironically allergic to peanuts) and encouraged to enter his sweepstakes for the chance to have the peanut man himself show up to their party bearing gifts either in person or virtually via the Periscope app.
This is what it'd look like if Carl Grimes from "The Walking Dead" entered the sweepstakes. Let's hope he gets a shiny new glass eye from Mr. Peanut!
AUDIO E-CARD GENERATOR
To promote the sweepstakes, we created the Planters 100th Birthday Audio E-card Generator (complete with easily shareable audio e-cards, of course). Patching Bill Hader into the sound studio and working with him to record this was awesome.
Unfortunately the birthday card generator has been taken down, so here’s the full text of this card:
“Greetings. Mr. Peanut here. Your SPIRIT ANIMAL asked me to record a special birthday message for you. It seems like just yesterday you were INDICTED IN A PYRAMID SCHEME. On your special day, here’s hoping your birthday wish TO DISCOVER WHO LET THE DOGS OUT comes true. Just think, in a few more years, you’ll be old enough to WEAR SOLID WHITE SNEAKERS WITH VELCRO STRAPS. I don’t know if you realize it, but every year you get a bit more PESSIMISTIC and a bit less INTELLIGENT. So, there it is. Happy birthday to You. Happy birthday to Me. And remember, I’m just the messenger. Sincerely, Mr. Peanut.
